  1. Response to Pro Se:

I had no idea so many people represented themselves in court in New York! It was a little irritating to hear that people didn't realize the "right to a lawyer" is not the same as picking whatever lawyer they want. It's sad so many people have to represent themselves simply because they cannot afford an attorney- it makes me want to help as many people who are struggling as I can! Tony's story was interesting and really made me think about both psychology and psychiatry. It seems so much worse to be locked up in a mental ward where no matter what you do or say, every intention you have ends up being taken a completely different way (in Tony's case). I don't think he should have ever faked mental instability to get out of a crime, but it's sad that so many years later he still cannot get out. After listening to this episode, I kind of view mental wards as a "point of no return" for its visitors.
